DIMASH RECEIVES CHANCELLOR’S MEDALLION FROM CITY UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA


Dimash Qudaibergen, a Kazakh singer, has been conferred the Chancellor’s Medallion by the City University Malaysia.

The award ceremony was held at Hotel W, Kuala Lumpur on June 22, 2023 (Thursday). The Chancellor's Medallion is one of the most prestigious honours awarded by City University Malaysia. It recognises the contribution of influential individuals in enhancing the fabric of society.

The event was attended by the senior management of the City University Malaysia, who are Datin Rohaidah Shaari, the Founder and Managing Director, Professor Dr. Mustaffa Halabi Bin Azahari, Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Brian, Vice Chancellor of International Cooperation, Professor Dr. Rosnizah Shaari, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Corporate Services, Sustainability and Registrar, and Sara Oshaghi, Marketing Director.

The audience greeted and applauded the world-renowned singer warmly when he arrived at the ceremony. In Dimash’s award acceptance speech, he talked about his excitement and how his heart had been touched.


“I can’t express how grateful I am. There are a ton of people in the world, and a lot more people who are better and more diligent than me. I am quite lucky to earn these achievements. I would like to thank Allah for everything, and my family for their support along the way,” he said.

Dimash, who is from Kazakhstan, won the first prize in the "Звонкие голоса Байконура" International Art Festival in 2010. He then started his life as an artist. In 2017, Dimash participated in a Chinese singing show called "Singer 2017”. The talented artist became well-known in China after that, his unquestionable capability also made him an international celebrity.

Dimash is set to perform his solo concert “Dimash Qudaibergen Live in Malaysia” on June 24 (Saturday), 8.30pm. His show, which is organised by ACO Media and Kwan’s International, co-organized by Metalive World and AMM, and sponsored by Vsing will be held at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil.


It is worth mentioning that Malaysia’s top songstress, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza will be a special guest during his show.

While being asked for the reason Dimash invited Siti Nurhaliza as his concert’s special guest, Dimash said that he likes the traditional arts of Malaysia, and he thinks that Siti Nurhaliza has a pleasant voice, it would be his pleasure to perform with her on stage in front of Malaysian fans.

“I have to admit that there are some difficulties during the preparation process as we live in different countries, but we will do our best to present a stunning concert to the fans.”
